Have you ever wanted to be a legendary warriors? Well now you really be a part of your game at the gaming table. Mimic Minatures is a new company that is able to capture an image of your head so that they can produce a gaming miniature modeled on your exact features. Owners Rich Nelson and Brett Peterson have a upcoming Kickstarter Project so that you, too, can be immortalized directly in your game. It’s called Mimic Miniatures. In exchange for your coin, they promise to make gaming miniature versions of you modeled on your actual features. Their software can apparently do this in a number of different ways, including from a set of 2D photographs of you. The Dungeon Crawler Team sat down with Owner Brett Peterson to talk about this fun and exciting new company. Author, Alex Bledsoe to talk about his new book exciting book, "Wisp of a Thing". Alex grew up in west Tennessee an hour north of Graceland and twenty minutes from Nutbush. He's been a reporter, editor, photographer and door-to-door vacuum cleaner salesman. He now lives in a Wisconsin town famous for trolls. Alex Bledsoe’s The Hum and the Shiver was named one of the Best Fiction Books of 2011 by Kirkus Reviews. Now Bledsoe returns to the isolated ridges and hollows of the Smokey Mountains to spin an equally enchanting tale of music and magic older than the hills . . . . Touched by a very public tragedy, musician Rob Quillen comes to Cloud County, Tennessee in search of a song, said to be carved in stone, that might ease his aching heart. All he knows of the mysterious and reclusive Tufa is what he has read on the internet: that they are an enigmatic clan of swarthy, black-haired mountain people whose historical roots are lost in myth and controversy. Some people say that when the first white settlers came to the Appalachians centuries ago, they found the Tufa already there. Others hint that Tufa blood brings special gifts. Rob finds both music and mystery in the mountains. Close-lipped locals guard their secrets, even as Rob gets caught up in a subtle power struggle he can’t begin to comprehend. A vacationing wife goes missing, raising suspicions of foul play. And a strange feral girl runs wild in the woods, howling in the night like a lost spirit. Change is coming to Cloud County, and only the night wind knows what part Rob will play when the last leaf falls from the Widow’s Tree . . . and a timeless curse must be broken at last. Shelly Mazzanoble’s short stories and essays have appeared in The Seattle Times, Carve, Whetstone, Skirt!, SomeOtherMagazine.com, and Dragon. In a fit of narcissism, she has appeared in her own work, casting herself as the lead in her play, Blue Malls, which was produced in Seattle’s Mae West Fest XIII. Due to the anxiety dreams still plaguing her, she did not star, support or even understudy in her play, The Chicken & the Egg, which was produced in Mae West Fest IV and later Manhattan Theatre Source’s Estrogenius Festival. Her first book, Confessions of a Part-Time Sorceress: A Girls Guide to the Dungeons and Dragons Game published by Wizards of the Coast, was nominated for an Origins Award and won the 2008 ENnies Award for Best Regalia. Her second book, Everything I Need to Know I Learned From Dungeons & Dragons: One Woman’s Quest to Trade Self-Help for Elf-Help was nominate for an Origins Award and at least six of her non-D&D playing friends actually read this one. Shelly really loves writing books with very long titles. Originally from upstate New York and a graduate of Ithaca College, she now lives in Seattle with a bi-polar cat named Zelda, a step-dog named Sadie, and a very patient man who has turned “Harpy” into a term of endearment. Dungeon Crawlers Radio welcomes to the show author, Patrick Tomlinson Patrick Tomlinson lives in Milwaukee, Wisconsin with a menagerie of houseplants in varying levels of health, and a Mustang. When he’s not writing, he’s practicing for half-marathons and triathlons, and trying to keep up with the world and our ever-changing landscape. Patrick has been a sci-fi and fantasy fan since a very early age. One day, quite by accident, he discovered that the best sci-fi and fantasy was not on the silver screen, but lying on white paper pages. Ever since then, reading has been a big part of his life. In the summer of 2009, Patrick began writing a novel. Before long, short stories started cluttering up his brain. In February 2010, he submitted his first piece to the publishing industry, which has been followed by almost a dozen more. Since his start in 2010, Patrick has written in the “Crimson Pact”, a collection of anthologies based on the origin story “The Failed Crusade” by Paul Genesse and Patrick Tracy. He has been handpicked to write books 3-5 in Shane Moore’s “The Wererat’s Tale” series. Patrick will also be seen in the upcoming Abyss Walker anthology collection.
